Hi, I'm Dr. Shaquana Jones!

I'm a dual board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), and I'm the person behind Versatile Direct Primary Care.

But more importantly, I'm someone who genuinely believes that healthcare should feel a little more personal.

Why I Started Versatile DPC

I created Versatile DPC because I wanted to build the kind of healthcare experience that I would want for myself and my family.

Too often, healthcare feels rushed. You wait weeks for an appointment, spend a few minutes with your provider, and leave feeling like no one really had time to listen.

I wanted to do things differently.

With Versatile DPC, my goal is simple: give people a provider who has the time to listen, answer questions, explain what's going on, and actually get to know them.

Because sometimes, one of the most important things we can do for a patient is simply slow down and listen.

A Little About My Experience

I've been in healthcare for more than 10 years and have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including urgent care, acute care, critical care, surgical services, and chronic disease management.

Those experiences have taught me a lot about medicine—but they've also taught me something just as important:

Every patient is different.

There isn't always a one-size-fits-all answer. Your health, your lifestyle, your goals, your concerns, and your circumstances all matter.

I'm also an adjunct nursing instructor, which is something I really enjoy. Teaching future nurses has made me even more passionate about patient education. I believe you should understand your health and your options—not just be told what to do.

Outside of Healthcare

When I'm not working, you'll usually find me spending time with my spouse, our two children, and our three dogs.

I'm also a big fan of both the mountains and the ocean, which probably explains why I enjoy getting away and exploring whenever I can.

Family, balance, and wellness are important to me personally, and those values naturally carry over into the way I care for my patients.

What I Believe About Healthcare

I believe good primary care starts with a relationship.

I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, telling me when something doesn't feel right, and being honest about what's going on with your health.

I also believe knowledge is power.

A track coach and a nursing instructor both shared that message with me at different points in my life, and it has stayed with me throughout my career.

The more you understand about your health, the more confident you can be in making decisions about it.

That's why education is such an important part of the care I provide.

That's one of the reasons I created Versatile DPC. I want to remove some of the unnecessary barriers and frustrations that can make getting primary care so difficult.

The name Versatile reflects how I believe healthcare should be.
